If Gene Roddenberry learned anything from getting Star Trek off the ground it was the lesson that a "no" in Hollywood could sometimes lead to a second chance. "Genesis II" had come and gone without a series pick-up, but the Dylan Hunt character would be revived in a new show called "Planet Earth" that premiered on CBS television on April 23, 1974.
